Instructions for burning candles with Wooden Wicks
To ensure an even burn, light the wooden wick across the whole candle and not just one end
Let the candle burn until the wax melts out to the edges of the container. When asked for best results when burning wooden wick candles, we recommend burning for at least 3-4 hours at a time. With wooden wicks, the flame can often burn low; do not worry - the candle will continue to burn.
Protect the candle from areas where breezes, ceiling fans, and drafts are present.
Do not ever move or handle the candle while it is burning.
Maintain the wick and a length of between 1/8 and 1/4 inch. If the height of the flame exceeds 1 ½ inches or if the candle starts to smoke, blow out the candle, and let the wax and wick cool down.
Before you relight the candle, remove all wick trimmings. You can trim the candle with scissors or by gently chipping off the top portion of the burnt wooden wick. You want to have enough wick left in order to relight.
The candle is designed to extinguish itself when 3/8 inch wax remains.
Instructions for burning candles with Cotton Wicks
Soy & coconut candles should be allowed to melt, filling the entire center with liquid. As the liquid around the wick melts, the candle pool should expand to the outside rim of the candle or to the sides of the candle container.
Place on a protected, heat-resistant, dry surface, away from anything that can catch fire, and out of reach of children and pets. Use holders designed for the particular candle style.
Trim your wick each time you light the candle, removing any wick 'bloom' from the previous burn. We like 1/4"-1/2". If smoking occurs, blow candle out. Trim wick(s), remove trimmings, and relight.
Avoid burning candles near windows or air vents. The draft will cause the candle the burn unevenly.
Never leave candles burning unattended.
The candle should be completely cooled between uses.
